The Wannsee in the green south-west is Berlin's most popular summer spot by the water — the large Wannsee lido in particular draws many Berliners when the sun is out. Around it, the Grunewald, Peacock Island and the Glienicke Bridge invite walks and excursions.

The Wannsee lies in Steglitz-Zehlendorf and is well served by the S-Bahn (S1/S7); from here Potsdam is quickly reached too. Ideal for a relaxed day of nature and bathing away from the centre.
