The Reichstag is the seat of the German Bundestag and, thanks to the Norman Foster glass dome, also a viewpoint with panoramas over the government quarter. Visiting the dome is free but requires advance registration — best planned well before your trip.
The Chancellery, the Tiergarten and the Brandenburg Gate are all within walking distance. The nearby Hauptbahnhof and Brandenburger Tor S-Bahn station make getting there easy.
