Tempelhofer Feld
Former airport, today Berlin's largest park — 4 km² for skating, picnicking, kite-surfing. The old runways are open to all.
Tempelhofer Feld is the former Tempelhof airport, today a vast public open space. People cycle, skate and fly kites on the old runways; there are community gardens and plenty of room to breathe — one of Berlin's most unusual experiences, and free.
The field lies between Neukölln, Kreuzberg and Tempelhof; several U- and S-Bahn stations line the edges. At its best at sunset over the wide expanse.
